Meet Leslye

Leslye Stewart began her real estate career in 1995. Previously, she wore many hats – she worked as a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines, then raised a family and volunteered with various nonprofit organizations and school committees. Leslye currently works out of John L. Scott’s Gig Harbor office and said her favorite part of the business is the lasting relationships she has acquired throughout her more than 20 years in the industry.

Leslye was attracted to real estate because of the opportunities to provide fantastic client service. She loves helping clients realize their individual dream of home ownership, whether purchasing their first home, downsizing or relocating into the Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Port Orchard or Silverdale area. Her goal when serving clients is to have as seamless a transaction as possible. Though there may be issues along the way, Leslye aims to always provide useful counsel to help clients make the best decision.

Transparency and keeping clients’ needs at the forefront of every transaction are key values of Leslye’s. Leslye participates in ongoing education to keep her on the cutting edge of the industry, and is always on the lookout for new ways to market properties and serve clients. Some tools she often uses are social media, the John L. Scott Property Tracker, Market Insights and more classic tools – like personal notes, calls and client events.

Leslye is very involved in the National Association of Realtors at the local and state level, and is passionate about her involvement in the Government Affairs and Professional Standards committees in the association. She also helps with local projects in her local Gig Harbor community, including those with the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance and the Harbor History Museum as well as advocating for local schools.

Boating and kayaking are common pastimes for Leslye, as she loves the water. She also enjoys speeding down a good downhill ski slope or spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Gig Harbor

A lot of people have only heard of Gig Harbor because of Galloping Gerti, but most Puget Sound residents know Gig Harbor for its incredible views, rich maritime heritage, and dining and art scene. Gig Harbor earned the nickname The Maritime City for a good reason. We know that Native Americans fished here because the harbor was safe and calm. Some of the first industry here was boat building and commercial fishing. Today boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, fishing, and whale watching can all be enjoyed just off our docks. During the summer, boaters and kayakers take in summer concerts in the park right from the water. Gig Harbor has a good sense of a small town feel combined with more cosmopolitan features. We have some of the best shopping on the West Sound and a unique blend of restaurants and bars. If you're craving a night in the city though, Seattle and Tacoma are either a drive or a ferry ride away. But what really sets Gig Harbor apart are the people. Everyone you encounter is smiling and friendly. It's like we all know how lucky we are to live in this beautiful town and we want to pass that good fortune along. If you'd like to learn more about Gig Harbor, let us know. We'd love the show here around and help you find your perfect home.

“My husband and I decided to retire in Washington state and were fortunate to find Leslye Stewart at John L. Scott Realty. We were looking in the Gig Harbor, Washington area and had been vacationing there every year looking at the potential homes. We worked remotely with Leslye for quite some time before actually meeting her. If we needed more information about a house or wanted her opinion, she was always there for us. What impressed me was her honesty about some of the properties we were interested in. For example, I found a “too good to be true” home and asked her opinion of it. She was extremely forthcoming that the family had raised many dogs who scratched up the hardwood floors and caused other problems (which the pictures did not show). The home needed much work and we had just spent a good portion of a year fixing our home to be sold and did not relish doing another renovation.

After we sold our home and flew to Washington for her to show us homes, she had pinpointed the exact homes with the criteria we desired and drove us around for several days. Most of the homes we liked had multiple offers, driving the costs up past what we wanted to spend. Spending time driving around with her was extremely enjoyable as she is one of the most honest, intelligent, warm and lovely people I have ever met. I felt like we were friends in that the conversation came naturally and it did not feel casual or business-like. We even could finish each other’s sentences.

My husband found some homes over an hour away from her office and she offered to take us there as well. We fell in love with 3 of the homes and made an offer on one, which was accepted, and we moved up within the month. Even though the property was over an hour away, she made several trips up there to inspect the property and then again to get the keys for us and leave us a wonderful Rhododendron plant as a welcome gift when we arrived. Leslye is not just a real estate agent; she is a wonderful, warm and interesting woman with whom we would like to continue to build a friendship with. She had a lovely “client appreciation” dinner party recently and we were able to get to know her family, friends and other clients. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone who is looking for a “home,” not just a house.”

“My husband, Vince, and I were lucky to meet Leslye Stewart at an open house off of Soundview. We explained that we were in the process of selling our home to a builder and would love to move to Gig Harbor. She was kind enough to show us this home (it sold later that day) but would keep us in mind for other homes.

We didn’t sell our home on the Sammamish Plateau for several years as offers came and went but Leslye stuck with us and when we were finally ready to buy she was there to show us many homes and to try and show us the kind of home we were interested in.

We did purchase a fabulous home on a golf course and loved it. Unforeseen circumstances led me to sell again. Again, Leslye was there for me. She put an extreme amount of work into listing the home and answering my unending stream of questions. She provided data on the existing homes that had sold and provided professional photographs that showed the property in its best light. She also had flyers and cards made up to give to potential buyers and she set up an open house. I was so pleased when I saw the listing and we ended up getting three offers on the property which pushed the final price higher than the asking price. The house sold in three days!!!

Leslye was there every step of the way for the selling of the house and helping me to find a new home that would now fit my needs. It was a great experience and I appreciated all the effort and time she devoted to selling my old house and to buying a new house.

I would recommend Leslye and her Real Estate team to anyone moving to Gig Harbor and the surrounding area. Leslye will go out of her way to do her very best and has been a truly professional and caring realtor – she is an outstanding person and a fabulous realtor who has your interest at heart.

I have moved many times and moved to many states but she has provided the best, top-notch service around. I would rate her highly five out of five and wouldn’t hesitate to call her again if the need arose.”
